Halo: Nightfall will be available for streaming over Xbox Live on both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 from the 11th of November, and will be included as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It’s going to be fun for long-time fans to see how the worlds come together with an ambition to attract new fans along the way with what we’ve created." Halo: Nightfall takes place after the events of 2012s Halo 4, intended as a direct lead-in to Guardians. There are two feature-length films, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn and Halo: Nightfall, as well as numerous shorts. "With Halo: Nightfall, we're pioneering a new medium in terms of interactive storytelling on Xbox. Ridley Scott, of Alien, Prometheus, and Blade Runner fame. Before the Halo TV Series, there were other Halo live-action movies Made with real actors, these are probably the closest we get to a real Halo movie. We're drawn to the unknown," Alien director Ridley Scott, onboard as executive producer, said of the series. "In science fiction, we're always searching for new frontiers. It sounds entirely separate from the existing Halo mythology, with little mention of the iconic Covenant forces or Spartan programme, but the trailer promises some familiar sights for fans of the series like Warthog buggies, UNSC soldiers and Master Chief's trademark assault rifle. Locke's team of Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) agents have to work with a Sedran commander with a strong dislike of the ONI forces in order to survive and make it back home. Halo Nightfall will release the first episode on November 11th, the same day as the Halo: Master Chief Collection. As well as revealing the SDCC trailer, Microsoft also added new information about the forthcoming series to the official Xbox blog. Halo: Nightfall will focus on "legendary manhunter" Jameson Locke, played by Mike Colter, who gets caught up in a terrorist attack while on a recon mission to the colony world Sedra. Eventually with The Flood though, I hope all the characters switch over to the shotguns with a line of “Let’s kill these fu***ers!” At least, that’s what I always yelled while trying to survive The Flood. Having Ridley Scott on this project seems like the perfect fit. One could easily see how Halo Nightfall could treat the Halo Ring like Nostromo from Alien with The Flood being the Alien lurking in the shadows for a few episodes of the show. But, with the manner in which they show a large Flood turn into a swarm of those tiny little buggers I think they are going to make fans of the series happy while giving new-comers to the franchise a new look at an undead enemy. When the shot of what appeared to be a Flood hand reached out and attempted to grab a solider I thought that they were going to change up The Flood into more of a modern day zombie figure. 13 and 23 year old me are absolutely giddy. So, in this trailer we got to see a partial curve to a Halo Ring, an Elite with an energy sword, the wonderful display for the assault riffle dating back to the first game, and our main characters stumble upon The Flood. Xbox released the second trailer for the Ridley Scott produced Halo Nightfall series and it contains a whole lot of nods to the widely successful video game series.Ĭheck out the official Halo Nightfall trailer!
